Helen Strieder has served on the board of trustees of New England Baptist Hospital since 1997 and served as chair from 2000 to 2005. She has exercised fiduciary responsibility for patient care and the financial well-being of this leading Boston hospital delivering adult medical, surgical, and primary care services with an emphasis on musculoskeletal care. As major shifts in the health care environment required this 100-year-old institution to restructure, Helen led the board through a change in management and a $28 million turnaround.
Helen has been a member of the board of directors Boston Urban Gardeners at the Community Farm in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts since 1994 and has been the board treasurer for most of that time.
As a private business consultant, Helen provides management consulting for small businesses on a range of issues, including internal and external company communication, organizational finance, and coaching management staff through organizational transitions.
