Magda E. Trujillo
has eighteen years of experience as a family therapist, trauma specialist,
and substance abuse clinician. Her specialty is in trauma-related work,
helping individuals and families who have experienced serious trauma and
are also struggling with chronic addiction. Her work includes training and
supervision and she has developed numerous collaborations with community
agencies and providers that have enhanced services for consumers,
particularly in the Latino community.
Magda consults with organizations in the Boston area providing shortterm
and longterm individual, group, family, and couples therapy in English and
Spanish. Working primarily with Latino and African American families who
are dealing with substance abuse or dual diagnosis, she supports her
clients as they address issues such as reunification with their children,
homelessness, unemployment, trauma, and domestic violence. She also trains
and mentors Masters level students in marriage and family therapy and in
counseling related to mental health and addiction. She offers private
clinical supervision for licensed mental health and licensed marriage and
family clinicians.
Magda has a Master of Education degree and holds licenses and
certifications in critical incident stress management, marital and family
therapy, addictions counseling, trauma, and hypnosis, is an approved
supervisor for the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
